You can easily lose yourself in trying to make sense of this pattern... When it comes to art, I suppose everyone interprets it in their own way. Think about that when you showcase this piece to your guests at dinner.

  • Made from 100% live-sheep wool that was hand-washed, brushed, spun into yarn, color-dyed, and finally woven knot by knot...  ALL with LOVE!
  • Duration to complete: ~9 months
  • Age: 40+ years
  • Only one in stock... one of a kind
  • Note: Handmade and vintage rugs may have some uneven fringes and possibly some wear that is consistent with age. These are perfectly-imperfect pieces and this a key differentiator from factory-produced rugs. We have taken multiple photos to highlight most of the imperfections for your reference. These rugs will last for years to come with proper care.

Story

This piece of art/rug was woven by two women in the Taznakht region southeast of the Atlas Mountains. Rugs from this region are known for their vibrant colors and the use of saffron as a base dye to reflect the earth tones. Taznakht is known for its high quality, pure live-sheep wool that can make rugs feel as soft as silk.

Thanks to the Moroccan government initiatives and the creation of co-ops in the greater region of Taznakht, there are now more than 2,2000 women artisans who are weaving rugs. Most of these women have inherited the craftswomanship through generations and passed it to their children and grandkids.

We want to thank you in advance for considering purchasing one of these art pieces and doing your part to keep this tradition alive now, and for generations to come.

As a Moroccan-American, small business owner with family roots that are not far from this region, I am committed to giving back to these villages and keeping these traditions alive.

Cleaning - These rugs have lasted for years and with proper care they will last for many more to come. We recommend to vacuum sideways once per week. If there is a spill, spot-clean immediately with a wet towel. In some instances, professional cleaning is recommended. Pure wool rugs love sunshine. If you can expose them to the sun, they will appreciate it.

Refunds & Returns - Due to our small business structure and from where we source our pieces, we will be happy to accept returns for store credit or exchanges within 10 days of purchase instead of refunds. Please see our return policy for details.
